The Body Achieves What The Mind Believes.
I am writing this post to announce that my official competition prep starts tomorrow... I am FREAKING out. I feel like there is so much pressure and I have such a long way to go. But hey, I want this, right? HELL YES!
Official Prep for me means cleaning up my "diet" (I don't see it as a diet - just a healthy way of living but I couldn't think of a better word), cutting out cheat meals (WAAAH), changing my routine to high rep and lower weights, and drinking 2 gallons of water a day. HELLO toilet, we will be GREAT friends.
The reason I say high rep and lower weight is because in the Bikini Division they don't look for muscle as much as over toning and presentation of your body.
I will be eating 6 meals a day and lifting 6 days per week. I am cutting back on my cardio for the next 4 weeks to give my joints a rest.

SO, What's Next?
I know I have been iffy about my show but I've decided even if I look like an elephant I am going to step on that stage. Praying that I don't and hoping that gives me some motivation. There is actually a show in 9 weeks in Tennessee, although I do not believe I will be ready that is what I am working for. Once again hoping that will inspire me to GO HARD. My main show that I have been training for is in 16 weeks - The Ohio State Bikini on September 14, 2013 in Columbus, Ohio. I am putting that information in here because I would love for you guys to come and support me. This has been a roller coaster and it is just getting started - I want to make myself proud in the end and show you what I'm made of.
I recently talked to someone about giving up lifting and throwing in the towel because they weren't seeing results. Boy do I want to do this all of the time. We grew up in a time where instant gratification was starting to boom. Where if we wanted something - it was usually available within a matter of minutes. Instant Gratification seems to be more present now than it has ever been.
Yeah, that's not how the body works, unfortunately. We have to trust the process. We have to believe in ourselves and know that if we keep eating healthy and working hard that in 4, 8, 12 weeks we will see progress. I take progress pictures EVERY DAY. Let me tell you - it is so frustrating. My body changes all of the time it grows and shrinks and seriously has a mind of its own. But I still have 16 weeks and I need to believe that I will get there because if you don't believe in yourself I promise you will never achieve your goal.
